En gruppe, bestående af fire studerende og to lokale, tager ind i det enorme skovområde Black Hills i Maryland. 22 år tidligere forsvandt en af de studerende, James Donahues, søster i skoven, og siden er et mystisk videobånd dukket op, der afslører, hvad der ledte op til hændelsen.
